The world is chaotic right now, and the old advice of "work hard, save, and hope" isn't enough anymore. Roost Strategies exists to bring you into the investor class, regardless of where you're starting from. Whether you're a sophisticated investor or someone who has never placed a trade, this is a place to learn, observe, and grow alongside a community and a team who are actively investing their own capital in real time, out in the open.

We built this around a simple idea: you become the five people you're closest to. We want to be one of those five people, helping you start to think about yourself, and your relationship to money and opportunity, differently.

Roost Strategies is one membership built around two strategies. The Wheel strategy, led day-to-day by Will Byrd, is built around cash-secured puts, a strategy for generating consistent monthly income. The Growth strategy, led by Scott Byrd, focuses on growth investing across crypto, stocks, AI, robotics, and the emerging technologies shaping the future, including a live real-time model portfolio.

Founder's Edition: your rate, locked

Members who join through December 1 keep the Founder's Edition rate of $200 per month for as long as their membership stays active, even after the retail price moves to $500 per month.

The founder's rate lasts as long as your membership remains active and continuous. If you cancel or let your membership lapse, the founder's rate is forfeited, and rejoining later means enrolling at the current retail rate.

Membership is billed monthly with no long-term contract. There are no refunds, but you may cancel at any time, so your only risk at any point is a single month.

What is a cash-secured put?

An options strategy where you agree to buy a stock at a price you choose, and get paid up front for making that promise.

Pick a stock you'd be glad to own, and the price you'd be comfortable paying for it.

You collect a payment, called the premium, for making that promise.

You hold the cash to cover the purchase if it's needed. That's what makes it "cash-secured."

Then one of two things happens

The people behind the Roost

Scott Byrd

Leads the Growth strategy

Scott Byrd is a 35-year market veteran. He began his career at Shearson Lehman Brothers, spent the bulk of his career at Alex Brown, and retired from Morgan Stanley on his 40th birthday.

After retiring, Scott started a coaching and consulting company, working with top executives and entrepreneurs across the United States and Europe, which he later sold. Throughout his career, Scott has stayed on the edge of innovation, always looking to invest ahead of where the world is heading.

In June of 2023, Scott stepped back from nearly everything else in his life to go all-in on building deep expertise in the digital asset space, a specialty that now shapes much of his research and investing approach alongside his long-standing work across all sectors of the markets.

His methodology, which he calls social arbitrage trading, is built around spotting where the world's attention and capital are headed before the crowd catches on, a track record he's shared and demonstrated publicly, including on TikTok.

Outside the markets, Scott is a devoted health and fitness enthusiast, an avid kitesurfer, and father to two grown children he remains close with. He founded Roost Strategies Research (RSR) and leads the Growth strategy, sharing his live model portfolio and research with members in real time.

Will Byrd

Leads the Wheel strategy

Will Byrd, 26, grew up immersed in the coaching, consulting, trading, and investing world built by his father, Scott. He has spent years working alongside Scott in the markets, learning the craft firsthand.

Will is an accomplished options trader who specializes in cash-secured puts, a strategy he identified early on as a natural fit for his personality and where he has consistently thrived. He leads the Wheel strategy, teaching and executing the cash-secured put strategy in real time for members.

Outside the markets, Will is an avid rock climber and golfer based in the Denver area, and a committed athlete devoted to health and wellness.

Angie Byrd

Operations and member support

Angie Byrd has been married to Scott for more than 30 years, with a front-row seat to a life in the markets: the early mornings, the hard calls, and the steadiness it takes to stay disciplined when prices move against you.

At Roost, Angie runs operations and member support. She works mostly behind the scenes, building and tending the systems members move through.

She is also a coach with a foundation in somatic practice, focused on how people stay grounded under pressure and through times of great transition. Her work draws on nervous system regulation, meditation, and movement, practices that speak to the part of investing no chart can teach: staying clear-headed when real money is on the line. A steady body makes for steadier decisions. Through her coaching and writing, she explores the deeper questions of meaning, relationships, and what it means to truly live.

Outside of Roost, one of Angie's great passions is dance. She also practices qi gong and yoga, is learning watercolor, and is devoted to all things health and fitness. She even built her own personal app designed around her unique fitness goals.

Is this financial advice?

No. Roost Strategies is for education and informational purposes only. Scott and Will are not registered financial advisors, and nothing shared in the Discord is personalized financial advice. We share what we're doing with our own money and teach the strategies and thinking behind it, so you can learn to make your own informed decisions. We teach you how to fish; we don't fish for you.

Do I need a minimum amount of money to join?

Not to join. This is built as an education-first community, and there's no minimum to become a member. If you're starting with little or no capital, you may need this more than ever, since it gives you the chance to learn, observe, and build the identity of an investor before you're managing significant money. If you want to actively place trades while learning the system, we recommend a minimum account size of $10k.

When do doors open?

Enrollment opens Wednesday, October 7th. Live trading commentary and sessions begin Friday, October 9th. Scott and Will will be active in the community chat in between, helping members get set up.

What time zone are the live sessions in?

All times are Eastern.

What broker do I need to use?

Any major brokerage works. We primarily use and demonstrate on Robinhood because it's simple to use, and we'll also provide video tutorials for other major platforms like Fidelity and Thinkorswim.

Where do the live sessions and videos happen?

Live programming and the video archive live on Whop, a single, simple platform for our members. Community discussion happens on Discord.

Can I try it before I commit?

There's no free trial. Membership is billed monthly with no contract, so you can cancel at any time; your only risk at any point is a single month.

What if I cancel? Can I come back later at the same price?

Members who join during this launch period lock in their price for life, as long as their membership stays active. If you cancel, that lifetime price lock is forfeited, and rejoining later means paying the then-current rate.

What will position sizing alerts look like?

Alerts reflect what Scott and Will are personally doing, not a recommendation for your specific situation. Position sizing is always your own decision, based on your own circumstances.

Is private coaching available?

Yes, individual private coaching packages are available on request for members, at an additional charge. Email us with what you're hoping to accomplish and we'll respond within 24 hours.
